alan & connie engaged!

alan & connie engaged! alan & connie engaged! alan & connie engaged! alan & connie engaged! alan & connie engaged! alan & connie engaged! alan & connie engaged! alan & connie engaged! alan & connie engaged! alan & connie engaged! alan & connie engaged! alan & connie engaged! alan & connie engaged! alan & connie engaged!

as i mentioned here, in march, i took a trip to socal to shoot my brother alan's engagement.

the weather did not cooperate that day—it rained ALL DAY. and this being my first engagement/portrait shoot ever, i was excited, but totally stressed about it. not having had enough experience, period, i spent the first hour trying to figure out the best way to shoot in the rain. there were definitely some frustrating moments when i couldn't keep my lens dry enough to focus properly. i was so worried that i wouldn't be able to deliver decent photos, and i wanted my brother and connie to have the best engagement photos ever!

anyway, alan and connie were such good sports. despite the rain and wind [and they were freezing], they didn't complain once and were more than willing to go anywhere i suggested, pose, and jump in the rain! so we got through the day somehow and ended up with some nice shots.

despite how stressful and tiring the day was for me, i can't wait to do another shoot!

These are beautiful, Jenny. So many great locations, and the cloudy/rainy weather makes for really interesting light. Pretty darn good for your first shoot. :)

thanks, chris. you're right, the cold, rainy day also meant extra hours of diffused light, which meant more photo ops! :)
